Visiting Angels of Chelmsford was started by Sandra MacMillan in 2006. She first became sensitive to the needs of seniors who wanted to remain home in 1990, when her grandmother could no longer live alone. She invited her grandmother to live with her and her 7 year old son.

Now, many years later, Sandra's mother is living with her. Sandra's compassion for all senior citizens has grown beyond her immediate family while observing the needs of her neighbors. Seeing them decline in health and needing assistance from their family members to perform the activities of daily living for them to stay in their homes.

With her personal knowledge of the great need, along with her twenty years of management experience, Sandra decided to provide families assistance in caring for their loved ones. Having volunteered in her local community helping others, the decision was easy to make, so she took the next step to serve the community in an area she had a passion for: caring for seniors.

Sandra's experience gained in managing staff for twenty years has been useful in carefully screening all caregivers and thoroughly researching their background and character before hiring and assigning them to work with a client. She personally meets with the seniors needing services, and with their families to perform a skilled needs assessment. Families are provided an opportunity to interview any caregiver that is referred to them, thereby allowing you to "Select Your Caregiver".

Sandra's philosophy is to provide service when you need it, and who you want it from to provide quality service and compassionate care in the seniors home.
