Newton & Canton, Massachusetts

Serving Boston and the Western and Southwestern Suburbs

Barney and Eileen Freiberg-DaleDirectors Barney and Eileen Freiberg-Dale have been active in Massachusetts and Newton community affairs for many years. Those who know us well are already aware of what we bring to the field of elder care.

Barney has been a masters level rehabilitation counselor and administrator since 1978. He was Executive Director of a comprehensive Easter Seal rehabilitation facility for three years, during which time he established an adult day health center for seniors. His work has included services to people of all ages and with all nature of physical, mental and emotional disabilities, in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors.

Eileen has been a clinical social worker in the Boston area since 1967, working with clients of all ages in her private therapeutic practice and in several non-profit agencies. For 20 years she served on the faculty at Simmons College School of Social Work, where she taught and coordinated field placements for graduate students. In that capacity, she became intimately familiar with agencies, hospitals and other human service organizations throughout Eastern Massachusetts.

As directors, we meet personally with all our caregivers, and thoroughly research their background and character before hiring and assigning them to work with our clients. We are never surprised when our care recipients and their families grow to love them as much as we do. We also meet personally with the seniors needing services, and with their families, to perform a skilled needs assessment at the outset; we then continue close involvement to monitor and respond to their changing needs.

One of the benefits of our experience is that we are aware of the broad array of services available to help families deal with the challenges of caring for a loved one in the final years of life. Aside from providing non-medical custodial care needed to help seniors remain in their own homes, we can connect families as needed to an array of other helpful services: geriatric care managers, elder law attorneys, financial planners, healthcare professionals and adult day healthcare programs, to name just a few.
